Program Mission Statement

To provide vocational training, rehabilitation, and placement services to physically, emotionally, and mentally disabled persons in order that experience may be gained in various work situations in an effort to achieve a greater degree of independent functioning and subsequent attainment of further training or suitable employment.

Program Admission Criteria

*Sixteen years or older and age appropriate as determined by the individualís Interdisciplinary Team.
*Must produce at least 25% of the industrial norm.
*Able to participate in the program full-time.
*Must have a long term vocational objective, sheltered or competitive employment.
*Recommended for VDP by Consumers IDT.

*Vision and hearing screenings *Case management *Life Skills Classes
*Job Club Activities *Job Placement and follow-up

*Developmentally Disabled(IL-DHS-DDD) *Lack of Vocational Awareness
*Work Habit Problems *Quality and Productivity Problems

Outcomes Expected

VDP will provide services consistent with an individual interests and abilities.
It is expected it will provide training skills necessary to obtain competitive employment.
It will assist an individual in obtaining Sheltered Employment.
It can lead to Supported Employment.
The program will maximize ones potential for employment.
